The Gentry School is a values-centered educational organization for students who think deeply, ask questions, and want meaningful academic challenge. We believe rigor and warmth belong together — every student who joins us is known as an individual, not just enrolled in a course.

The Gentry School provides rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive learning experiences that cultivate curiosity, confidence, and academic excellence in gifted, advanced, and high-potential learners.

We envision a learning community where intellectually curious students are known, challenged, supported, and empowered to use their knowledge to make a meaningful impact.

Who We Serve

We welcome gifted learners, academically advanced students, high-potential learners, and creative, curious minds — with or without formal gifted identification. We also welcome homeschool and worldschooling families.

Based in Jacksonville, Florida, The Gentry School offers live online instruction in Eastern Time and welcomes students from a variety of educational backgrounds, including homeschoolers and worldschoolers. Worldschooling families should confirm that students can attend live classes consistently, complete assignments on schedule, and maintain reliable internet access while traveling.

Optional in-person camps, workshops, cultural experiences, service projects, and learning expeditions serving families in Jacksonville, Orlando, and other announced destinations may be offered separately.

Meet Our Founder

Lashantah D. Braswell, M.Ed., is an educator, academic leader, and curriculum developer with more than two decades of experience supporting students, families, educators, schools, and youth-development organizations.

Her work has focused on mathematics, science, gifted and high-potential learners, executive functioning, curriculum development, and academic program leadership. Throughout her career, she has designed STEAM curricula and student-support initiatives that help learners strengthen their understanding, confidence, organization, and academic independence. Students she has supported have gone on to attend high-performing private and magnet schools, Ivy League institutions, and other nationally recognized colleges and universities.

Lashantah founded The Gentry School around a simple belief: academic rigor and genuine care for a child’s confidence and well-being belong together. Through The Gentry Method™, she is creating learning experiences where curious and capable students are known, challenged, supported, and encouraged to make a meaningful impact.
